This talk describes a ten day trip starting in the ancient city of Marrakesh, traversing the high Atlas Mountains and onto the deserts beyond.
For such a short flight, the wildlife is very different from Britain with desirable desert specialists like Desert Warbler, Desert Wheatear, Thick-billed Lark and Houbara Bustard. We also visit the spectacular sand dunes on the edge of the Sahara at Erg Chebbi, which is one of few places you can see the rare Desert Sparrow. Then we travel across country to the coast, with verdant estuaries and different birds, but the main target is the incredibly rare Northern Bald Ibis.
This recording will be available to watch from Saturday 22nd August and for 3 months afterwards.
