Norway’s Orcas, Humpbacks and Northern Lights – An Arctic Wildlife Cruise by Sara Frost
Sponsored by Naturetrek
In winter, the precipitous fjords of northern Norway are the stage for one of Europe’s great wildlife spectacles, as vast shoals of Herring congregate in the waters in the region of Tromsø, several hundred kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Following close behind them are pods of Orca, Humpback Whales and, overhead, White-tailed Eagles.
Sara details the thrill of following the action from on board a comfortable and historic three-masted schooner, a magnificent base from which to explore the magnificent scenery of the north Norwegian fjords! The long winter nights are also perfect for witnessing the ethereal flickering of the Northern Lights.
This recording will be available to watch on Wednesday 19th August and for 3 months afterwards.
